Answer #6:

Well, you asked.....

Like the other 'Reality' shows offered on the networks, this is pure junk, and just a way to kill off more brain cells in people who most likely have none to spare.

The best thing about the whole show is Alan Clarks wonderful music, using samples and loops from Spectronic's extensive library, and sequenced with ACID PRO, and Cakewalk SONAR software. He is the only true artist on the whole crew.

The camera shots are blase, with Thermal Imaging used to show 'hot', and 'cold' spots, which mean absolutley nothing. This is ancient technology. Current 'real' investigators use Computer-Enhanced Imagery along with ultrasound, infared, and ultraviolet spectometry to analyze data.

Most of the show is shot with Sony DCR-PC9E miniDV cameras, which are way obsolete, and can be purchased at Walmart for little or nothing, if they have any left. Some of the more elaborate scenes are shot with Sony DSR-570WSP & DSR-PD170P DVCAMs, also way obsolete. This is the age of Blue-Ray and HD Cinematography, folks. Wake up and join the 21st century!

Dr. Ciarán O'Keeffe, a British parapsychologist who holds a Research associate position at Université de Toulouse, Le Mirail, does have a PHD from an obscure college, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, but has absolutely no actual field experience with Psychology, or Paranormal Investigations, other than with the show. It just sounds good to have someone listed in the cast with a Dr. in front of their name.

Phil Whyman, the 'Investigator', is a musician, artist, and actor with no training, or experience in any type of science or investigations.

Lesley Smith, the 'Historian', is an actress with no actual academic degree in History. Her total 'Historic' experience was as the curator for Tutbury Castle, a tourist attraction. She received an Honorary Master's Degree because she increased the # of visitors to the castle significantly.

Chris Conway has no verifiable records as a Meduim of any kind, other than with the show. He is most liky an actor who needed a job, and looked good on camera.

The rest of the cast is pretty much the same. The only people who are actually what they say they are, are the cameramen (they are Union members), and Yvette Fielding, who really is an actress and Producer.

The shows are hokey, contrived, and geared to the intellegence of a really slow third-grader.

As I said....a typical 'Reality' show. It reminds me of why I never watch network TV, anymore.

Answer #7:

The live Most Haunted Micheal Jackson special was unanimously voted THE WORST programme of the last decade.

Answer #8:

It has been proven to be faked. Derek A was given false information of a person who had allegedly died but in fact never existed. He them went through his charade of pretending to be possessed by the fictional person.

Answer #9:

I watch it from time to time. You can't take it too seriously. All the stuff they do and encounter like seances, ouija boards, stones being thrown and mysterious knockings can all be so easily faked. Show me a ghost and I will believe in it.
It's better now that Derek Acorah is gone. At the end of his stint, he was getting possessed during every show. The bad acting on his part was just comical. You often have to wonder what some of the other members of the Most Haunted team actually do. That Cath woman just seems to screech so loudly that you have to turn the TV volume down. She's quite annoying. The bald chap, Stuart is pretty funny. You know there's always going to be some shenanigans when he's on screen. It's great when Kieron - the sceptic parapsychologist - gets a genuine fright from time to time.
The best bit about the programme is some of the cool, old locations that they visit. Some of them are quite close to where I live in NE England and I've visited after seeing them on the show. Not so much for ghost hunting - just to see some amazing, old architecture and to take a few interesting photo's.
Overall, Most Haunted is alright as a piece of light - hearted entertainment. I think everyone likes to feel a little bit scared but you can't take any of what happens on that show as real evidence of the paranormal.
