I don't know how much you already know, but I'll assume you know nothing. First, you can NOT make an app on windows. You must be using a Mac. Second, SDK is probally the best software to make apps. You use Xcode and IPhone simulators and all. You will also need a program for graphic design. Your software will vary depending on what types of graphics you want but some examples are Adobe Illustrater, Adobe Photoshop, and Maya.
