Hey, I want to make ecommerce store website, I know most of the php and mysql involved but I'm having a problem with website design. How is it that a website with a navigation bar is made whereby each category might have sub catagories? (For example if you wanted to look for peripherals > speakers > 2.0 speakers on an electronics website with only peripherals showing in the navigation menu to start with), also how would I make a site where the navigation bar, and banners at the top will stay in place even if the window is resized scrolled? In short, does anyone know of a good set of tutorials/guides for the design side of a ecommerse website which will end in something similar looking to overclockers.co.uk but with whatever kind of product I choose instead? How not to send php contact form mail from "Root User"?

Hi,

I am a newbie to php. Thanks to online tutorials that I have successfully created a php html contact form for my website. The form is doing well accept to 2 things.

I receive all emails from "Root User <here comes my smtp remote email address>", I wish they came from the sender's name provided in the name field of the form in place of "Root User".

The subject of all emails remains same "Contact Form" as set by me in the form. I wish I could create a subject field which was filled by the visitor and hence I could get emails with unique subject each time.

I'm using gmail to receive these emails. Gmail bundles all the new emails from same destination (Root User) and subject (Contact Form) in one which creates confusions.

Can I get help on this? Thank you very much.

What can you do with MAMP?

Hi. Over the past month I have been trying to learn about SQL and databases but I cannot even find a good tutorial and I don't really understand how it works. One of the answers on Yahoo Answers told me to download MAMP. I downloaded it, but I don't really know what to do with it. Can I run .php files on my computer now? What does MAMP do for me? (by the way I have a mac)

than when i look at the post, it shows everything but also has an error spot the size of what the image is resized to. I want to make it so if there is no image uploaded, it doesn't error, and it does not show that blank 300x300 spot on the post.

I have been using Iframes but i heard that its annoying namely because you cannot bookmark, long pages, etc.

I've been reading up on PHP but it only seems slightly better. Is there an alternative to the two? I have a website but not sure where to go from iframes?

I have used Cutenews before, on my old website, but have started on a new one. I was wondering what you think about the two commenting systems, which one you like best, and why.
Also, I don't know PHP, but I can learn it. I know some good tutorials to use, too. And I know you have to use PHP for Cutenews, but what about Fan Update?

Sorting by Series using PHP drop-down?

Okay, so first I run an anime/manga graphics based website. I use MySQL and PHP to organize my website.I want my visitors to easily sort things by series (as in, anime/manga series) by using a drop-down box input field. I got this to work on one of my pages using a tutorial, but when trying to do it on other pages I could not because the website with the tutorial is now shut down.

If you look at the code in the urls I've provided, the code for both pages is identical except for some things such as specifying to different tables.

Okay, I'm having some trouble.
first I will find a vulnerable site, say ; sqlvulnerable.com/php?id=8

Okay, so now I add " ' " after the "php?id=8" and it's vulnerable.

Okay, now I do the order by "1" and add the "--" so now the URL is; sqlvulnerable.com/php?id=8 order by 1--

okay, now I got the number of tables; say theres 9. okay, so now I do this:

sqlvulnerable.com/php?id=8 union all select 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9--

and it has this error: "The used SELECT statements have a different number of columns"

I've done this with multiple websites and I always get this error. And Every tutorial I've seen, has all the steps that I've said, and theirs works and I get this error.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
